Are We A World of Gadget Lovers?

These days, everyone knows, even if you don’t use them yourself, how massively popular social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter are. Whether they are used for business, or just plain social networking, the amount of time being spent on these sites is increasing with everyday.

Just by looking at some internet stats, you can see how popular these sites have become. Yesterday alone, 26% of all internet users visited Facebook.com, this makes it the second most visited site behind Google. Youtube is comes in behind Facebook with 23% of the global internet users. Despite Twitter only having a mere 4%, they are looking to become one of the largest social networking sites in the near future.

Our need to talk about our lives everywhere we go has lead to the introduction of many gadgets that are targeted for social networking uses. These gadgets allow us to connect to the world wide wed anywhere we go. One gadget that is always being improved is the ’smart phone’ which is being lead by the iPhone. Other mobile devices that we can’t get enough of are netbooks, smaller versions of laptops that are designed for on-the-go connectivity.

Our requirement to be connected to the world, all of the time, supports the claim that we as a world are addicted to our gadgets. Although you may not think that you’re addicted to gadgets, I bet it wouldn’t take you very long to find a gadget that you don’t leave the house without. Whether yours is an MP3 player like an iPod, or a mobile phone, these are these gadgets are on the top of the list for most popular.

Retailers have caught onto the fact that we love out little gadgets and now almost everyday a new wacky gadget is released, everything from retro alarm clocks to emergency phone chargers

With Christmas on the horizon, gadget retailers are set to make a small fortune in sales as customers run out to pick up their must-have gadgets of the year. Just a few of the crazy items we want this year are candy grabbers, people really will buy anything these days.
