Do bands enjoy smashing instruments?
After observing some bands both past and present it is clear that some of them really do love to throw their money away.. Is this for effect for the fans, a crowd pleaser or literally because they earn so much money they can do what they want, when they want to.
Musical instruments really do not come cheap no matter which one you play and if you are seeking out the best of the best it is going to cost you a small fortune everytime you have to go out and buy a new one. However certain rock bands like smashing and destroying their own things on a regular basis.. Nirvana liked to do this on a regular occassion. Kurt Cobain nearly always insisted on jumping headfirst into Dave Grohls drum kit or smashing his guitar onto the stage floor.. They were in fact a very popular band, only breaking up after the death of Cobain. Well the drugs could have had an affect on his minds ability to think before acting but he seemed to be able to play the guitar and sing just as well so why not do this too?. Of course if you are more into Disc Jockeying then perhaps smashing those expensive DJ speakers is not the best course of action to take, also make sure to have those DJ headphones on standby to ensure your safety.
