Chillchaser Release Patio Heaters that Emit no CO2
Since the release of patio heater, there have always been people who have argued against their use. The most common complaint against them is that they are bad for the environment, due to the way they generate the heat. Other complaints are that they waste too much heat and that they are generally a waste of energy.
The most argued point, that they are damaging to the environment, is true. The way a normal patio heater generates heat is by burning gas. Because the gas is burned, as with everything that burns, carbon dioxide is created which causes damage to the environment.
The second complaint against them, that they waste alot of heat, is also true. Despite the tops of patio heaters being designed to reflect heat so it goes towards the ground, a large amount of heat is still wasted.
However, with all that in mind, a heating company called Chillchaser has developed some brand new patio heaters that look to solve all of the above issues.
Instead of using the standard gas powered method of generating the heat, Chillchaser has developed a brand new way. They use carbon fibre rods to create the heat. The advantage of using carbon fibre heating is that it emits absolutely no CO2 gas. Although this sounds like it would have no effect on the environment, it doesn’t quite. Because these heaters don’t use gas, they require electricity to power the carbon rods, however, the actual eneregy required is very little so they actually only release 50% of the emissions that a standard patio heater would.
These new patio heaters also combat the second complaint, that alot of heat is wasted. Carbon fibre heating is able to generate heat in a more focused method which means less heat is wasted.
The final advantage that Chillchaser heaters have over others is that they include an infrared sensor. The sensor detects movement and turns the heater off when no movement is detected. This new feature means that the heater won’t be left on when it’s not in use, meaning less damage to the environment is caused.
By the looks of these new patio heaters, Chillchaser have managed to changed patio heaters forever and many eco-warriors won’t be able to moan about these heaters. I suppose the only complaint that could be made would be that they shouldn’t be used in the first place, which Chillchaser can’t really combat.
It would be good to see what Chillchaser would do with a standard dehumidifier; maybe build in a home weather station to it, that would solve two problems in one.
