Europe See New McDoanlds Logo Design
In an attempt to make McDonald’s appear to be more eco-friendly, the classic McDonald’s logo will be changing across Europe. After many years of the classic golden arch with a simple red background, a number of stores across Europe will be changing to a green background.
Over the last few years, McDonald’s have faced increasing pressure to change their environmentally un-friendly practices. However, to combat that, they have rolled out a series of eco-friendly practices for different stores around the world.
The changing logo colour approach is the one taken in Europe. This new logo change has already taken effect in a number of stores around France and the United Kingdom. The change will have the biggest effect in Germany as over 100 stores are planning to make the change before Christmas 2009. How many stores and countries this change will be made in is not yet known.
You might wonder how such a simple change to their logo would make any difference to their green image. However, this slight change to their logo will show the public that they are making a difference within their company.
Sony Ericsson did something very similar with their logo earlier this year. Altough they were only looking to freshen up the brand and not send a message, like McDonald’s are trying to, they simply created a series of their logos, but in different colours instead of creating a new logo. This does show that with the right logo design, you don’t need to make much of a change for it to look like a fresh logo.
There’s no reason why this couldn’t work for your company’s logo. If you were a food based business, changing the colours to make a series of food and drink logos you could use would give your business a fresh image. The same little changes could be made for any logo really, whether you make clothing logos or religious logos.
