Places To Camp At In Southern Utah

Dec 9, 2009

Southern Utah has some amazing camping spots. If you are ever planning a Southern Utah vacation one thing you might want to consider is staying at one of these great camping grounds so you can see more of the Utah scenery and it is also many times cheaper to camp then to stay at a hotel.

1. Fish Lake

Fish Lake is a wonderful spot to take a fishing and camping trip at. This Utah Lake is a great place to go if you are looking to get nice fishing memories. It is also surrounded by the Fish Lake National Forests that has many great hiking trails and includes the world’s largest living organism, which is basically a group of tress that are all fused together.

There is just a single word of warning I should give you this lake is best suited for R.Vs. camping area. If you bring a tent you had better come during the summer or you are going to freeze.

2. Any National Park

All of the Utah National Parks are definatly worth the visit and by camping out at one of them you are able to see everything there is to see. Each park has a camping section and they are all relatively inexpensive.

3. Green River

The Green River State Park is a wounderful campground because they have some nice fishing and it also contains a nice golf course so there is a ton of things to do on site. It is also very close to 3 major national parks, Arches, Capitol Reef, and Canyonlands.

The wide selection of things to do definitely makes this a great spot to plan a vacation at.

4. Snow Canyon

Snow canyon is also a nice place to stay; this park is normally not very crowded and contains some amazing lava flow rock formations. It is also next to the other two National Parks, Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon.

There are hundreds of spots to camp around the state. These are just a few nice areas that you may want to check out.
