Staycations turned into holidays abroad!!

Dec 23, 2009

I was all packed and ready to go on holiday with my fianc©e when she came down with a really bad stomach ache, the day before we were going to leave. We both were looking forward to this holiday, and it was the only time that we could get off work. So we were now trapped at home and we both needed to do something.

We managed to cancel the holiday and somebody referred us to a site on the internet. What an earth is a Virtual holiday, i wasn’t at all sure about this. This web-site takes you on a tour around the cities of the planet, and you need not move from your seat. Trying to get some of these holidays when your not well isn’t easy, so something like this can work well.

This seemed to me like it was going to be horribly boring. I pictured this thing to be a bit boring and not at all informative, sort of like a trailer for a holiday.

There was a lot about this program that i liked, it showed me everything i wanted to see. We paid for one of these holidays, although there are some sites that do this for free for those that can’t leave the house. We paid for a tour round New York, which is where we were going to go. We did have quite a lot of “maneuverability” as well, we could go through museums and travel to specific locations, as long as they were in the system. This was great, it took us all over the city, including museums and parks, the sound was very clear and the picture steady.

The following commentary was very good and described a lot of what we wanted. After trying this, I honestly believe that they could be a big thing, mainly for those that are Disabled.

We had fun trying this “trip”, although it isnt the same as the actual thing, it is not that different, we would like to try the Egypt holidays or Maldives holidays one, where the holidays are far too pricey for us to try, maybe Christmas holidays just got a lot less inexpensive?
