Top 11 Kitchen Gadgets For Christmas

Dec 13, 2009

There are many gadgets out on the market to make your life easier when cooking in your kitchen but just how useful are they, and are they really worth all the money?

11. Salt and peper shakers looking like 80’s favourite Rubik’s cubes. A must have for all the retro lovers and with each cube being the exact size as the original back in 1980 you cant go wrong.

10. The plate that cooks your food. However brilliant this may sound it is really only capable of cooking an egg or two and that’s only if you like it fried! With the long cable running down the back of it, it’s almost certain you won’t really want to eat off of it.

9. The Catapulting toaster. Good for when you can’t be bothered to get the toast out of the toaster. Although sounding brilliant there really isn’t a point as I’m sure crumpets and hot cross buns still get stuck and you still end up burning your fingers attempting to get them out

8. A hand crank juicer which saves on your energy bills even before you’re fully awake! If you had a choice you would still proberly get the electronic one purely because turning the handle is a waste of time and energy in the morning. Harder to use but more satisfying as you are saving small amounts on the electricity bill.

7. The hand power portable washing machine is fast, green and easy option to a commercial washer. The tub comes pre-assembled and only needs soap and water and you to turn the handle. Realistically this may be useful for campers or when your washing machine is broken.

6. The Rotato express does all the boring vegetable peeling everyone hates for you. Although made to save the boring effort it actually starts by adding time to your day as you have to put the vegetable in exact alignment with the gadget so it even cuts properly.

5. Wake up to the power of the dark side with an imprint of Darth Vader on yout toast with this toaster. This for me is by far the best gadget. You can’t go wrong with a bit of Star Wars in the morning

4. A block that you put knives in stops germs from spreading. Can’t really see it being any better than if you were to do the washing up properly.

3. The Digital recipe reader is great for when you can’t be bothered to go and fund that old cooking book your gran left you. Just pop all your recipe’s from the net straight onto the reader and you can cook top meals for hours on end without even having to open a cook book!

2. The flatshare fridge has several compartments, one for each person. Brilliant for all those arguments over who bought what food in the flat. Is there really much point in buying an expensive fridge just to stop an argument over food?

1. Out of all ten gadgets toastabags are easily the one that is cheap and easy to use. They save the time and effort of washing up afterwards. You don’t even need a toasted sandwich machine anymore. As well as no cleaning up to do afterwards it’s easy to see why Toastabags are number one.

However is someone really going to actually use these items? Maybe, maybe not. Most of these gadgets will never become big sellers, but is small amusement for buying some of them.
