As many of us unfortunately know, nausea is a condition in which one has a sensation of unease and discomfort in the upper part of stomach and head, often with an urge to vomit. Nausea can be caused by many things, for example, it can occur as an adverse effect of some drugs, or can also occur if one ingests too much food rich in sugars. It is important to mention that nausea is actually not a sickness, but rather a symptom of several conditions that may be happening in the body. This condition is often a good sign of other problems that may exist in the body.

There are various causes of nausea. Some of them are alcohol, too much caffeine, anxiety, depression, sleep deprivation, stress, migraine and similar conditions. We can see that many of the causes of nausea are closely related to ones psychological health, so it is fairly logical to assume that in many cases, we can help ourselves by solving these causes first.

There are many natural remedies that can helb in treating conditions like stress, anxiety, depression. Some of them are valerian (Valeriana officinalis), lemon balm (Melissa officinalis), basil (Ocimum basilicum) and other. However, we could write a whole article about each of the mentioned herbs, so in this article we will concentrate just on the herbs that can heal nausea no matter what the cause is.

One of these herbs is wormwood (Artemisia absinthium). This plant is an excellent aid against many stomach and bile problems. Indigestion and a lack of apetite are also conditions that wormwood can effectively treat. In addition to its ability to heal nausea, wormwood is known to be generally good for strenghtening the body, and for developing resistance to various diseases

For treating nausea with the help of wormwood, usually one teaspoon of dried leaves of this herb are added to a fourth liter of boiling water, that is than left for about 15 minutes. After that, the tea is strained and can be drinked. One can drink about 2-3 cups per day in order to get rid of this condition.
