Is Unlimited Web Hosting A Good Choice

Jan 28, 2010

Most people looking for a web hosting service will choose shared web hosting. It used to be that when a website owner chose shared web hosting, they would get a certain amount of bandwidth, space, domain names and email accounts allocated to them. However, as time has evolved, more and more web hosts are choosing to offer more features to their customer than the customer actually needs. This is a great way to get customers to sign up with the web hosting service. It is called an unlimited web hosting service.

So what does unlimited web hosting actually mean for the customer? Most people’s idea of unlimited web hosting means that there is no limit to the amount of websites they can have under their one unlimited account. But unlimited web hosting plans are not that much different from the old traditional basic plans. It is true that most people would have traditionally been given a certain amount of space, domain names, bandwidth, email accounts etc. But the amount given to customers was almost never used up and web hosting companies knew this. Because of this web hosting companies came up with a new plan called ‘unlimited’ hosting which is a very similar package. The customer is getting much the same as they always did but thinks they are getting more value for money.

Not only are these packages great for the customer but they are good for the web host too. The customer gets a better deal still at a low price and the web host gets to entice more customers. And if your web host is good, they will solve any issues with customers who do exceed their amounts of space and bandwidth etc. However, the web host knows that most of its customers will never actually use the amount that they are provided with under their unlimited web hosting plan.

When you decide to go into internet marketing, you should make sure that you have web hosting dealt with beforehand. The web hosting world can be a confusing one though for a newbie. For example, you may come across reseller web hosting or even linux web hosting when you are looking at different hosting plans.
