It’s Freezing, But I Still Need My Wine Cooler
With Christmas just over a week away, it’s really time to get myself sorted out.
By now all of the presents should have been bought and wrapped. If this is the case, then well done, you are well ahead of schedule. From a personal point of view, I still have loads to do, and am beginning to really worry its not all going to get done.
When you work, it’s really hard trying to organise everything, but I’m hopeful by Christmas that somehow it will all be sorted.
Its not just the gifts you have to worry about though. Naturally all of the food needs to be sorted out. This can sometimes be a huge job in itself. We all love our roast turkey and naturally we have to have all of the trimmings that go with it.
I am a bit stupid though as it takes me all morning to prepare the magnificent feast and then when I lay the table, I dont really do a proper job. Out comes my old broken crockery, along with all of my mismatched cutlery. Its always been okay for me, but this year I have the whole family descending upon me, so I think I am going to have to make a real effort to impress.
I am looking to buy some new dinnerware especially for the occasion. I have seen some I really love, and although its a bit pricey, I think its going to be worth every penny to go one better than my sister!!
At Christmas because my sister is pretty loaded, she likes to impress us all. Last year she gave us all wine gifts. She choose a wine cooler for me. It wasn’t just any old cooler though, it was sterling silver. It is absolutely beautiful and to be truthful I really do treasure it.
I know the cooler would have set her back a bob or two, so it seems a real waste to put a cheap bottle of wine in it, so I am going to have to blow the budget and buy some decent wine. I think I will have an expensive bottle to start with, then once we have downed a few glasses and chilled out a bit, I can bring out the cheaper wine.
Whatever happens this Christmas, I know that we will all have a great time as the family will be together and having fun.
