Money Saving Tips for 2010

Jan 22, 2010

Our goals are anchored with money. We want to do so many things. But we cannot move on because we lack cash. You have to be serious and achieve your goals this 2010.

Use your wallet. Sliding down those dollar bills and geting coins from it helps you become aware of your spending. To resolve your need to save money, that awareness is the key. Stuffing bills in the pocket or putting in a purse can make you forget what you have on hand, and it becomes easier to think how we choose to use it.

Always have a list. Listing is not a difficult thing to do; all you have to do is to put down the things you want, and it is effective whenever you shop or do the grocery. When we’re not using a list, we spend more money. Take time to write down everything you intended to buy for the week and stick to it.

Balance your checkbook. You have to increase your awareness of money if you want to save more of it. Know how much you receive every month, what you have spent on it, what are your goals and where do you stand in terms of reaching it. Take time to balance your checkbook each month. If you don’t, you will just be continuing to spend money, you avoid thinking about it and you will be feeling dreadful when reality sets in.

If possible, cut down your credit cards. Credit cards are great help for financial emergency situations. But you don’t need to have a lot of it. Consider having emergency fund to handle those unexpected expenses. This way, you can be in your own lending agency. By simply waiting until you have saved enough to buy those things you want to purchase instead of using the credit card, you can free yourself from debts.

Refinance into a fixed-rate mortgage. Those interest rates that are lower will eventually go higher and higher. When that happens, the home financing place not to be is in an adjustable-rate mortgage that is subject to a rate reset. While they are on the record lows, refinance out of an adjustable rate mortgage and lock in a fixed rate.

Find cheap loans. Entering college is costly and expensive. Cheap loans can assist you in your financial needs. You do not need expensive ones. If you are already on it, call them and see if they can modify to reduce the rates you are paying monthly.

I know saving money is not easy. You just need to have the discipline to sustain because in the long run, you will be the one who’s going to benefit all of these.
