The Beatles USB: The Beatles in MP3
For just about forever people have been not so patiently waiting for The Beatles timeless music to be available as downloadable mp3s so that their recordings could be easily put onto an mp3 player. As of early 2010, the Fab Four are still not available for download at AmazonMP3 or the iTunes Store but there is something called The Beatles USB which includes all of the 2009 Beatles stereo remasters in the mp3 format.
This USB flash drive includes everything that is in The Beatles in Stereo except in a much easy to carry format! With this little memory stick you will be able to carry The Beatles complete stereo discography around with you in your your hand.
When I write that the USB flash drive contains everything in the stereo box set, I absolutely do mean everything. It even includes the previously unpublished photographs and the liner notes. And yes, it contains the short documentaries on the making of each album that are on the DVD.
On top of all of that, this USB memory stick also includes 24bit FLAC versions of their stereo albums which are actually higher quality files than the files found on the CDs! CDs are in 16bit quality, while these FLAC files are 24bit. This really makes this flash drive a “must buy” for any audiophile who wants to have these classic recordings in the highest quality available.
Unfortunately this memory stick does not include mono versions that are available in The Beatles Mono CD Box Set. If you want to hear these legendary mono versions then you’ll have to purchase the mono box set (at least as of now.)
I purchased both of the box and the memory stick because I am a a true Beatles freak, of course not everyone has the cash to spend on buying music (even when the music as awesome as this is.) If you’re on a tight budget then you’ll have to consider how you most commonly listen to your music. Do you play CDs or do you play music on your computer and on your mp3 player? If it is the second one then the USB gadget is probably what you need.
