Tips For Weddings In Another Country
For many, the idea of marrying a foreign wedding is bliss. Flying off with your loved one to somewhere hot and tying the knot on a sandy beach without a care in the world. It is becoming increasingly popular to have a wedding abroad and it can be a real treat for everyone. However, there are often factors that need to be taken into consideration when tying the knot in another country. These three things should most definitely be on your radar.
Cost. People dont realise until they start booking things up that getting married abroad can be very expensive. Transportation aside, doing simply things like sorting catering and places to stay for everyone seems to frequently cost more when doing it all in another country. You may not be putting people up in a castle hotel, but costs still add up. If you haven’t got the money to have your wedding in another country, you should spend some time saving up first, rather than put it on credit cards. That way you you’re not worrying about money on your big day and you save yourself debts.
Family. This is probably the primary concern for most people when thinking about weddings in another country. Unless you are very wealthy, it is likely that family (and friends) would have to pay for their own transportation. Depending on where the wedding is, that could be very expensive and some people may not be able to travel for medical reasons. You should consider just how practical it is for everyone before you announce your grand idea to shoot off somewhere nice for the big day.
Laws. It is very easy to forget that laws vary in every country of the world and when you are on their turf you play by their rules. In your home country it might be fine to get married in bars, fields or castle wedding venues, but abroad you might find that the wedding is only legal if it takes place in a church or similar. Further more, it can sometimes be difficult to find the right person to conduct your wedding in the country of choice as they may have different religions to your own.
