How You Can Start to Increase Your Jumping Power

If you are like anyone else who plays basketball, then you also have wanted to be able to dunk. This is the defining characteristic of basketball, and if you can’t jump that high, then you feel left out. The rim is 10 feet off the ground, so honestly your having to jump 3 feet up, and that is hard to do. It’s okay though, because there are many ways to build your vertical explosion muscles so you can start dunking like star. So heres a word to the wise for you to begin with.

Step 1, step off with depleting excess fat.

This is apparent, because the less you weigh, the longer and higher you can jump. Cardio and eating healthy can be started to so you can get more of the results you are looking for. A couple good ways to burn excess fat are things like jump rope, swimming, and running.

Step 2, establish training your leg muscles.

Jumping power comes from below the waist. You could begin with these work outs leg curls, toe raises, leg raises, and squats. Also try to build the abs and back muscles to strengthen your core for stability.

Step 3, start jumping.

This one is simple. Instead of just jumping adding weights will give you the results you want. One way to work on your vertical explosion muscles is by using 15-35 pound weights and using all your energy to jump. Just work with whatever is comfortable to you.

If you want to jump higher and be able to dunk you need to start training your vertical explosion muscles.
