Turn Your Hobby Into A Job
Spending your time doing what you really love doing is far more important than making a lot of money. This point is obvious to some intelligent people and these people tend to be much happier with their lives. This is not to deny that we all have to make enough income to pay for food and other essentials but I see so many people who seem to make earning lots of money their main purpose for their life. This is a very sad thing to me.
I’m sharing this in the hopes that at least one person who is reading it has that proverbial light bulb go on that this is really it. This is actually your life and this is your one chance to live it to it’s fullest.
Particularly I want to open you up to the concept that you can make enough money to pay your bills doing something related to what you really love to do. For example if you like creating your own jewelry you could try putting up a handmade jewelry store on etsy. There’s many people in the world who want to buy unique interesting jewelry instead of the corporate mass produced stuff you find at department stores.
Another good example is that if you are interested in writing and recording your own music you could start to get serious with recording music at a home music studio. With the advances in technology it’s much more easy than ever to record wonderful sounding music. I won’t deny that you will have much to learn about recording at home to get going but it’s important to remember that doing anything really worth doing is going to take it’s share of effort.
Making selling your original prints into a career is a really great choice if you like to take photographs. I’m not going to pretend that it’s easy to make a living as a photographer but if you really take it seriously and study all of ways you can make money as a photographer you can find a way.
Certainly it’s quite likely that you will make a lot more greenbacks at some horrible life destroying office job. But is the extra money really worth spending most of your time doing a job that you don’t enjoy? Wouldn’t you rather have less flashy expensive stuff but enjoy what you are spending your time doing a lot more on a day to day basis?
