Using POS Coupons to Bring In Customers
An increasing amount of shoppers these days are on the lookout for discounts, deals and special offers from their favorite stores. In fact, many customers will choose certain stores over others based on the number of special offers and coupons they provide. As more and more consumers look to save money and shop smarter, stores are also looking for smart ways to keep customers coming back for return trips.
Point-of-sale (POS) products have become a key advertising tool when it comes to creating a coupon system that customers stick to. These marketing devices are a great vehicle for a stores customized advertising campaigns. Most commonly, POS products are incorporated through custom printed receipts. Shoppers take these receipts home and then see the coupons, which will encourage them to make a return trip for more shopping offers. Instead of having to print out or cut out coupons for the stores they like, customers can simply keep their receipts to create a stash of coupons for future use. More customers are likely to make a trip back to the store again at a later date when they walk out of the store with coupons already in hand.
An increasing number of stores have also installed POS paper to make custom coupon deals for their shoppers as they check out. In most cases, the POS system is hooked up to the register in the check-out lane. After the transaction is complete, customized coupon is printed out on POS paper along with the receipt. The coupons correspond to items that the customer purchased. For example, a customer may receive a coupon for $1 off the same brand of paper towels that they purchased in the store that day. Customers receive the POS coupons at the same time as their receipt, making it an expected part of their transaction. This has created a dramatic increase in the number of return customers who decide to come back based on the guarantee of discounted items that are of interest to them.
