References to art are typically made in a conventional manner. They believe the orthodox definition of art as an ability pertaining to drawing and they are not entirely wrong. Using creativity to form something pleasing to any of the senses is being creatively artistic. You will realize that you come across so many people who can not be referred to as anything but artists. Haven’t you ever had food that was absolutely divine? Have you never wanted an encore of a melody? Haven’t you ever wondered how on earth Bill gates, Steve Jobs or Mark Zuckleberg ever came up with Microsoft, Apple or Facebook respectively? Have you ever witnessed a performance that brought you to tears? Have you been to a comedy show that you remembered for years? Whether you believe it or not, these are all forms of art.

“The entire world is a canvas.” These people perform extraordinary tasks or artistic feats on a daily basis or in their regular lives. We all have a knack for something special. Art may be in contemporary turfs, fashion, culinary skills or even a knack in scientific or sports related field.

In order to succeed in life, it is rather important to follow your talents. People born with the ability to deliver great speeches become great public speakers, people who kick hard early in life, might be prone to becoming football stars, people who are born with melodious voices can become great singers. An uncut diamond is just as useful as your untrained talent.Remember, a diamond’s value increases depending on how fine it is cut. So let your natural art take its own course and succeed in its own special way.

Why in the world should we care about art history? Imagine a world without art… can you do it? A world free of paintings in the buildings you visit. A world void of sculpture on the streets you stroll down. A world without illustrations in the books you read. Without art, the world would be a very different place.

Art is around us – it always has been – it always will be. To put it simply, art in all forms – painting, sculpture, architecture – serves as a guardian of our tradition and culture. Pieces of art provide a record of the thoughts, opinions, emotions and efforts of groups of people all the way through history. Think about it, how would we actually become acquainted with our collective visual history… the rulers of our countries… the landscapes and scenery of ancient times or the faces of our ancestors and forefathers, if not for art history?

Art is a powerful animal. It connects us to the past as it binds us to one another even more in the present unifying us in a world of cultural diversity. Still not sold on the museum visits? That’s OK, because the Internet my friends, is the next best thing – unless of course there is a fabulous collection of paintings in your Great Grandmother’s hallway…
