Like many folks in this country, I earn my living whilst using a van. Plainly speaking, without this van, I would be looking for a real job! So it is important for me to have all of the leg work done, so that I know that I can go about my business. it is possible to keep my accountant happy, which obviously is great for everyone.

How do I use a van to the best advantage of my business? A while back I replied to an advertisement from a courier company looking for individuals to franchise from them. I had taken redundancy from my old job and thought ‘why not’. I figured that I had nothing to loose, and it may also be fun and engaging.

The downside of a franchise deal is that you have to be the owner of you own van. Basically you have to buy or lease you own van. I nearly gave up on the idea, once I had started to look into the various options that were on the table. An outright van purchase seemed unnecessary, and unavoidable as I had spent my budget on the franchise agreement. It seemed to me that a van leasing deal was the most sensible route to take. What was so interesting in doing the lease route rather than purchasing outright? Flexibility is the main key here. Leasing covers all types of vehicles, and I was tempted by a Toyota Hilux because it is cool and appears to have presence. This of course is pure vanity and should be rightly dismissed as such.

With a leasing deal, van finance is easy to get and very competitive. When you have agreed your lease deal, you credit rating will then be assessed. When that is finally approved, you will be able to drive away with your new vehicle. The real clever thing herek, is that when the deal has run its course, you have the option of a new deal or selling your van!
