The process of removing faecal matter from the inside of the colon and intestinal tract is commonly referred to as colon cleansing. The variant most strongly associated with the term is probably the colon hydrotherapy where an enema bag or similar is used to inject water into the colon, but the colon cleanser can be done using laxatives, fibre and herbs as well.

Colon cleansing is a name used for various procedures where faecal waste is removed from the colon and intestinal tract using colon hydrotherapy or oral cleansing regimens. During colon hydrotherapy, an enema bag is normally used to inject water into the colon, sometimes mixed with herbs or other products believed to be beneficial.
