I always used to spend my two week holidays lying on a beach somewhere up until a couple of years ago. I would always claim to be having a great time, but to be honest these holidays were very unsatisfying. Spending time in a different country lying on a beach all day and getting drunk every night really did seem like a bit of a waste to me. I wanted to spend time seeing things that interested me instead. I’m not much of a museum or historical sites person, but I do love football. When it came to me to head out to different places visiting the football stadiums, France was my first choice because of how close it is.

Football is my passion, but this summer trip mostly involved visiting the stadiums when there were no matches being played at the time although I did get to see a couple of games. I really do love football stadiums and I have some fantastic memories inside these structures. In much the same way that arty folk get a buzz from visiting places like the Tate gallery, I get the same feeling from a football stadium. Even when there is no football being played there is still just a special feeling about standing in a stadium all the passion that has been expressed there seems to leave its mark.

So last summer I visited the 20 Ligue 1 football stadiums in France. It wasn’t easy but I managed to fit it all into two weeks. I got to see a lot more than you would get on any beach though; in fact it was the best holiday I’ve ever had by far. After I visit the Ligue 2 stadiums next summer I will move to Germany to see their stadiums. Maybe I’ll get to visit all the main football stadiums in the world.

Nowadays, many people are driving to their foreign holiday destination. Lots of individuals head straight to the south coast for the ferry to france. Doing this takes away the worry of thinking about disneyland paris tickets. At the end of the day there isn’t a better way of getting in some city breaks europe?

This year World Cup was finally won by Spain. 3 years ago people have always been saying Spain have always under performed even though they are one of the great footballing nations of the World. In 2008 they won their first European Championship and two years later they became World champions. If you are a Spanish fan reading this article then send flowers online to your football team’s head quarters in Spain, they deserve it. This is a fantastic achievement and you should all be a part of it. 2010 definitely has been Spain’s year in footballing and tennis wise.

It was not a good start by Spain when they suffered first game defeat against Switzerland and everyone started doubting them because no team has won the World cup after losing the first game. But then they slowly and swiftly got back to winning the games. Spain have always a good passing side and with players like Villa, Torres, Xabi, Alonso and Iniesta on the side you are bound to pay good football and start winning games. They won their last two matches to progress to the second round to face Portugal. It was a tough game but they eventually got the goal to beat Portugal and moved on to the Quarter finals.

Spain then faced tough South American opposition Paraguay. In papers Spain was tipped to beat Paraguay easily and with lots of goals but it wasn’t that easy though they eventually did beat Paraguay by 1 David Villa’s goal. Semi final against Germany was a very chess type match. Germany were the tournaments top scorers and Spain played pretty football with neat passing and movements. Spain again beat Germany by one goal to zero to reach the final and face Netherlands. And again then beat Netherlands by one goal to zero.

This year certainly has been Spain’s year no doubt so make sure you send wedding flowers, celebrity flowers to congratulate your team just make sure they are not funeral flowers.

American Football

Sep 14, 2010

Though cricket was once referred to as chess on a playing field, the same can be said of American football. It uses much strategy. Finding the other team’s plan and defeating them is the main goal.

The teams’ styles are determined by the strengths and weaknesses of their individual players. There are offensive and defensive players. Players can pass or run, but passing is the more popular option.

Each team keeps a collection of possible plays that they can use in different situations. The strategy of despair named the “Hail Mary” is always included in these playbooks. All theplayers run down the field while the quarterback throws the ball to the end zone.

The two offensive strategies are alternately used to trick the other team. The other team isn’t clueless, because they always have defensive plays. The playbooks are regularly reviewed, and they have offensive and defensive plays. On the field, the punt has been used and proven. It is usually employed on the third down.

Before going for a run, some players pretend to make a punt. Though risky, it is usually a turning point in the game.

This strategy is great if executed successfully, but is a pain if it fails. After the play, the opposing team is in an advantageous position. To prevent the opponent from snagging the win, a good defense is important.

with the figures finally coming in from just how much money companies are making from the world cup and the final well on the way, lets take a look into things.
