We have just entered 2011 and it is probable that you have already failed to adhere to the resolutions you drunkenly made on December 31st. Occasionally the stress of life just takes its toll and the resolutions we make to ourselves regarding health and wellness just go down the pan.
“That’s it!! I am stressed and I am giving in and having a ciggie!”
Well, a health spa may be just the thing you need! All people need a bit of “me time” and escaping the family or the stress of the office will enable you to clear your mind. In such an environment where health and inner peace are the central focus, you’ll find it easier to prioritise the changes you feel you need to make to have a healthier, happier mind and body.
And you will actually WANT to make those changes as well.
Indulging in a mud wrap, a yoga session or a deep sensual massage The only way to achieve this is to look after yourself time to bin those fags and those post-work takeaways. The only method to achieving this is to look after yourself time to throw away those cigarettes and ensure you’re getting your 5 a day!
A method of incentive that I like to use to help encourage me to take proper care of myself is to buy some gift vouchers for my favourite (and expensive!) spa, which I pin to my fridge with a magnet. I can only use these vouchers once I have reached a milestone. For me, these milestones include attending every weekly Pilate’s class without fail for a four month duration, or shifting that extra half stone that creeps on after each Christmas or holiday.
You can of course cater targets to your own desires.
While some regard the main purpose of a Spa day merely to be cosmetic, being pampered as part of a well deserved beauty regime, others see it more in terms of the direct and demonstrable health and wellbeing benefits that can be delivered. One of the most universal techniques to help maintain physical and mental wellbeing is massage. Some leading spas have perfected a series of products that can be used domestically without needing a therapist and many of these products are as used in the spas own treatments. So you can at least obtain spa quality products to pamper hands, feet, legs, face or any other part of the body, but there is no substitute for a massage under the hands of a skilled therapist.
A health Spa can make you feel good about your body, you feel better about yourself and the world around you. continue reading »
There are many reasons for indulging in a spa day. Many look upon a spa experience as being beneficial to health, whilst others simply think pampering and manipulation is part of a well deserved beauty regime.Whatever your reasons for visiting a spa, massage of some kind will almost certainly be part of the day. Massage can help maintain your physical, mental and emotional well being, especially when it is part of your regular wellness routine.
A health spa that includes massage depends to some extent on the skill of the therapists and the facilities of the spa itself, but they also need you to be in the right frame of mind to make the encounter a complete success.A massage is supposed to be a soothing and relaxing experience, so dont arrive late.If you are in a rushed and frenzied state you might as well have not come at all.Try to be receptive and don’t eat just before a massage session and If you feel uncomfortable about removing all your clothing, discuss it with the therapist. continue reading »
Christmas is the season of goodwill towards men, but also stress as well as celebration. The pressures of organising a family Christmas (cooking, entertaining, tolerating the in-laws, making sure everyone has the appropriate gifts) on the woman of the household are huge. While it may not be a great idea to abandon those seasonal domestic responsibilities altogether, why not make some time to treat yourself in advance of the onslaught to come or as a treat to look forward to after the event?
Few gifts to yourself are more personal, more thoughtful and more deserved than an indulgent spa day. They can be a passport to bliss, relaxation and health. continue reading »
