New York City is the most fantastic city in the world. Admittedly, I haven’t really been to every single city in the world, but I’ve been to more than my share and I don’t think I have ever seen a city that offers everything New York does.

Traditionally a low-income immigrant neighbourhood, the Lower East Side of Manhattan New York has become a very different place than it used to be and is today home to a mixture of upscala boutiques and down to earth bars. Due to the rapid gentrification in recent years, the National Trust for Historic Preservation has actually placed the neighbourhood on their list of America’s Most Endangered Places. If you want to get a glimpse of what the area used to be before it is all boutiques and french cafes you should try to visit as soon as possible. continue reading »
