Although model kits are not used in movies as much as they used to be, thanks to things like CGI they are still used in things like explosions as they cost a lot less than using CGI technology. Films have relied on models for a very long time and I don’t think that a high budget film is ever going to be made without the need for a model build.
If the film is not actually going to be using models for the explosions they may still do a few tests using models instead of wasting money. continue reading »
Scalextric
When I was a bit younger I had not heard of Scalextric sets This was until my uncle came round one morning with his entire collection of the stuff and we decided to sit and place everything he had on the downstairs of the home, it worked perfectly I have to say.
Now in case you don’t know what Scalextric even is then it is basically slot car racing which is racing with powered miniature autos or other vehicles that are actually guided by grooves or slots on the track. The user of the car will actually control the small model using just one button, squeezing hard for fast and soft for slow. continue reading »
