Renting a self catered apartment is one of the most popular choices for Ibiza holiday makers. With self catering you have the choice of cooking your own food or eating out, rather than eating and drinking at the hotel every night- as you may end up doing with a full or half board package holiday. Here we’ll take a look at some of the most important things to consider when booking a holiday apartment in Ibiza.

Location

The location you choose for your Ibiza holiday will help to dictate whether you have a quiet or wild time. If you’re looking to party the night away in Ibiza aim for a holiday apartment in either Playa D’en Bossa or San Antonio.

Meanwhile other resorts in Ibiza are more family focused. Santa Eulalia and Es Cana are popular resorts for holidaymakers with families in Ibiza.

Facilities in Ibiza apartments

You can get Ibiza apartments from very basic to very luxurious. Price will be a good indicator of what quality of facilities you should expect from your apartment.

You should expect an apartment to have some basic cooking facility and a fridge at the bare minimum. You’ll often find low quality cooking facilities in cheap holiday apartments. Because most young clubbing holidaymakers don’t cook anyway it isn’t often much of an issue. Trip advisor reviews are helpful for establishing a realistic view of the apartment, but don’t let them put you off a place altogether.

Apartments for workers?

There’s plenty of cheap holiday apartments for longer stayers like season workers on the island- most of which are in San Antonio. These apartments are fairly rough around the edges but do the job. This type of apartment is essential to keeping the island running in the summer months by ensuring its well stocked with workers. However if you’re just in Ibiza for a holiday avoid staying in the workers apartments.

Ibiza apartments, why not?

As with most Mediterranean holiday resorts there’s plenty of choices when it comes to accommodation and you should decide if a Ibiza holiday apartments really is the best option for you before you book. There are plenty of cheap hotels in Ibiza which offer all inclusive or full board packages at a reasonable cost which include much of your food and drink in the cost of the room, leaving you more spending money for the clubs or water park!

Renting a villa is also a great option for groups or families with lots of villa rentals on the market. You get more privacy and space with a villa and the cooking facilities are usually much better than you’d find in an apartment.

Wherever you choose to stay I’m sure you’ll have a great holiday in Ibiza!

Some of the best rock climbing in Spain is on the east-coast in the Costa Blanca region, home to some of the most perfect bolted limestone crags. The climate makes for perfect climbing conditions, couple this with the cheap flights and accommoadation, it is no surprise how the Costa Blanca has become so popular with rock climbers from around the world.

The Calpe area includes the classic Penon crag, a rock climber’s heaven. Rising 300 meters out of the sea, the Penon offers climbers a superb multi-pitch climbing experience that can offer something new to the most experienced of climbers with almost 300 routes to choose from. With a great selection of Moraira Villas, you can really enjoy the trip and really get into some climbing.

With the beach, a selection of nightclubs and bars and a whole host of distractions Benidorm has, it’s no surprise it a top budget holiday location. But the climber isn’t there for the party (primarily), she is there for the climb. There are two main areas to enjoy, the Sella crag is the first anf has many variation of routes and is a great climb. With 450 different routes over six crags, the Puig Campana is another popular choice, with a stunning setting you can’t go wrong. There are villas in Spain that aren’t too far from all of the climbing spots, that are perfect for the enthusiastic climber.

Alicante is perfect for the real serious sports climber, offering quality single or 2-pitch routes over the 13 crags in the area. A personal favorite of many climbers is the crag in Renaco, and has a great choice of fully bolted multi-pitch routes, perfect for the group climbers.

When you get to Spain you need to make sure you have the best accommodation to meet your needs, a good place to rest after a long day climbing. I would recommend hiring a car and finding a Villa Moraira then you are central to all the best climbing locations on the east coast of Spain. Remember to visit the Gandia Area and the Xalo Valley if you run out of places to climb.

Everyone likes to make at least one call home whilst they are on holiday to check on the pets or a relative. However the cost of an international call can be inhibitive. Compared to staying in a hotel, staying in a villa has far more benefits, there is the aspect of cost (you save a lot more if you are out in numbers) whereas a hotel usually charges per room which for a party of 8 could essentially mean you are being charged for 4-8 different hotel rooms. Basically a holiday Villa Moraira is just like living at home, all the facilities are there; a kitchen for cooking, lounge area for relaxing, as well as being able to park outside your own doorstep.

You can appreciate your own privacy when renting a holiday villa, unlike a hotel room, so after a long day on the slopes, down the beach or out discovering the town you can talk amongst family and friends about your experience all under one roof.. continue reading »
